Friday Favorite: CNBlue - Hey You

Friday Favorite : CNBLUE - HEY YOU

Our Friday favorite this week is 'Hey You' by CNBLUE which is the title song from their 3rd mini album 'Ear Fun' (ear + fun = *grins*....who cares just look at them!). This song is upbeat and totally distinctive of CNBlue's style.

First off before we go and talk about the song or the mv, we would like to say "ehhhhh"?? Who on earth came up with the album name 'Ear Fun'. We understand that they want us to enjoy their songs and in a way it could make sense.... but the name of the album is a bit awkward. It sounds like an awkward non-rhyming advert slogan. It could have been called 'Ear Candy....' (ohh). Anyways moving on.....

The song is very catchy and like most of their other songs they have their little humming tune, for this song they have 'durudurudurudu' in it and for Love they had 'lalalala' (Everybody clap, clap, clap!). Honestly, there isn't anything to complain about the song as it's a feel good song delivered by our cute boys.
'Hey You' is not only sung by Yonghwa but by Lee Jong Hyun as well, and we gotta say that we are loving his sweet voice which is different from Yonghwa's husky voice. This song gives a spotlight to all of the band members rather than just Yonghwa. (Loving it! *fangirls*)

However, CNBlue's agency needs to hire a producer who has good English skills or we can volunteer for free...(with no ulterior motive obviously!). The song has sentences such as 'beautiful one day' which we think should be better phrased as 'one beautiful day' instead.

Now let's move onto the MV, since we are not korean, can't speak it either we thought the lyrics were very happy(?) and bright. (Maybe it was to separate from their usual backstage lives) But thanks to youtubers who sub the mv's we were able to find out what they lyrics actually meant. And boy are CNBlue off (well their agency), the mv DOES NOT match the song's lyrics. The lyrics is about longing to be with the person they love or going back to the good old days but the mv is just them...behind the scenes. We feel that they could have done a better job at conveying the feelings of the lyrics onto the mv.

The mv has more foreigners than I have ever seen in a kpop music video (let us rejoice international fans for we may be in their next production *fangirls some more in a desolate corner*). In fact the only Koreans in the mv are themselves...

OMF!!! Guess who I just saw??

So...so....interested.

Also could the production crew not find a better police officer? He just looked lost....
I shall take your baton and use it as a singing device.
And..whose set did they interrupt exactly? (*scratches head*)

Well we were thoroughly amused by the MV and the song will make you want to press replay. (just for the boys)

Check out the full MV below and let us know what you think \(^o^)/:
