Friday Favorite: NU'EST - FACE

Friday Favorite : NU'EST - FACE

This week, we are inSane about the new bad-boy, anti-bullying song by NU'EST.
Here we have a rookie group with a very strong debut that leaves a lasting impression on k-pop followers! These days, all rookie groups seem so confident (and young!). It's starting to become the norm. (not that we're complaining~ ) And in order to stand out from the kazillion rookie groups debuting this year, they have debuted with an out-of-the-ordinary-not-typical-kpop song that explores the theme of bullying (rather than love).

Song Link: NU'EST : Face

NU'EST - pronounced 'new-east', is a five member group who have introduced dubstep into Kpop, which wasn't really an explored genre, and combined this with great meaningful lyrics to produce FACE. The group is made up of (eye candy guys):  [Leader] JR, Minhyun, Aron, Baek Ho and [Maknae] Ren. They are all 16 years of age (hallelujah) except for Aron who is 18 (still hallelujah).

The video strongly follows the theme of bullying and suppression faced by many teenagers these days. We follow the storyline of a young (really cute) teenager being picked upon by a group of (really good looking) bully.
Poor poor soul.
And lo and behold~ we have our wonderful adolescents coming in to save the day! (Yes, they are slowly forcing us to become pedo-noonas...soon we will have our own race). We see single introductions for each of them and in between a series of symbolical dances. (Including the really awkward leg in the air.)

We've come up with the reason to why there are so many delinquents and bullies in the school. The reason being: it's a low budget school.
If you look closely the entire school is made up of a warehouse, one corridor and one teacher (who wears a mask... no wonder none of the students listen to him).

Follow the Nu'est rules or . . . get beat up by them [example below]

Flying kick *kwa-toosh*

To fight back the bullied guy uses. . .a pillow. Seriously!? Is that the best you can do? A pillow! You know you don't belong into a school when everyone else starts kicking you and stuffing feathers into you locker...we understand...

And I summon. . .ye feathers.

The dance itself seems to have been influenced by their company sunbae Son Dam Bi as they have chairs incorporated into their dance routine. The clever turns they do on the chair and the dance sequence in the middle is both impressive and interesting.

No heating whatsoever...

Also is it only us or does Aron scarily resemble G.O from MBLAQ?? In all honesty, I have never seen anyone unrelated look so alike... see for yourself. *looks left & right* It's like looking into a mirror. [Obviously, being dedicated fans, it's easy for us to recognize them however we do this to sympathize all the newbies who still find it hard to distinguish each member.]

Overall, the whole song and members impress us. They have a new feel to them and when we first heard the song, we both had different reactions to it...
 One was:
While the other was:

But, in the end, we were able to find a common ground and now we can both proudly walk down the streets while dancing to this new sound.

"Click the like it"

Just as a side not~ If you don't know who E.Coyote is, it used to be a character in the cartoon Road Runner. Check it out if you can ^^. [Oh the good old days!]
